What we've been up to!

National Road Rally

Lets have a laugh!!

NEW - Boys will be boys!!

The Area

Derbyshire offers many things to the motorcycling public. Probably one of the best known runs (Cat & Fiddle), the famous Matlock Bath and race venues like Mallory and Donnington on our doorstep. You will also find great pubs in our area served by the breweries of Burton upon Trent, of which most are biker friendly. Our area also hosts the unmissable Rock & Blues festival at Pentrich (see External Links) and the infamous MFN. So much to see and do, you know it’s worth a ride out!!

All information on this site is supplied free to all bikers. If you want some information that is not listed, let us know

NEWS !!!!
The better weather is finally here and straight away we get news like this!
3rd June 2013 - There were two fatal motorcycle accidents over the weekend, which claimed the lives of four men. The first accident occurred on the A61 near Wingerworth, near the Hunloke Arms, at 3pm on Saturday where three men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not released the names of the deceased but have said they were two men aged 45 and 49 from Chesterfield and a 46-year-old from Sheffield.
In a separate incident, a 53-year-old man was killed on the A57 Snake Pass at 6pm the same day. The man, who police say was from Derbyshire, died after his black Suzuki Hayabusa was involved in a collision with a Renault vehicle.
Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of these fellow bikers.
PLEASE RIDE SAFE !!!

Ever fancied doing a First Aid course?

train

I am a Derbyshire based biker that happens to own and run a First Aid training company and I have been rolling out a new First Aid for Bikers Course that covers very specific modules relevant to biking accidents.
I have been an instructor of first aid for twenty years - initially in aviation and then for St Johns Ambulance (which is where I first set up First Aid for Motorcyclists) and I am now working with Derbyshire Safety Partnership to get the courses rolled out through them and maybe Bike Safe. My company TrainAidInc is an HSE registered training provider, Associate of the Association of First Aiders an OfQual Centre and I have been a biker on an off (excuse the pun) for thirty years! It is DIFFERENT to a First Aid at Work Course as they don't cover biking PPE, helmet removal, neck and spinal injury management, crush injury management and temperature extremes. The course costs just £15 at the moment and is very comprehensive. Click on a picture or Trainaidinc for further details or give me a call.

This Site

Whats the idea then? We are a small group of people living in Derby who all ride motorbikes. Good start eh! We got talking and discovered that there was nowhere that bikers either in or visiting Derby could find biker related information, so we decided to come up with this site. We do not profess to be biking gods just friendly people who enjoy some of the best roads in the country and would like others to get the best out of their bikes (safely!!).

You have heard it before, but I will say it again, keep the tricks off the roads!! If you really need to get your knee down, go to a track day. In our experience bikers are the friendliest bunch of people you could ever meet but there are one or two who insist on ignoring everyone else on the road and taking stupid chances. Far too many bikers end up in hospital (or worse). Keep it safe, you can still have buckets of fun and live to be a ripe old age.

Rant over. If you would like to contribute anything to this site, please let us know by sending an email. We want as much information on this site as possible. We operate this out of our own pockets, but if you would like to advertise your business we would be happy to help for a small fee (to go towards the upkeep of this site)

Charity Rides

Over the years we have taken part in many charity events and indeed held a few ourselves. We will gladly advertise your event on this site, just send us the details. If we can we will also take part (good eh?).

Motorcyle Action Group

We are pleased to announce that Derby Bikers are now affiliated to MAG. MAG campaigns to protect and promote motorcycling and the interests and rights of all riders, from learner to advanced. They celebrate biking and the freedoms and independence it provides, through their support of parties and rallies, sport and competition, touring and travel.
